The Energy Data Trust is Canada’s first independent, secure platform for managing, sharing, and accessing clean energy data. It’s built to accelerate innovation, improve decision-making, and support a just and affordable energy transition. Mission
To independently facilitate the secure, ethical sharing of energy and energy-related data from utilities and other stakeholders, fostering innovation and transparency to support the energy transition, while respecting and protecting the custodial requirements of data owners.

To create a trustworthy, secure platform that enables national and international collaboration to share FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) energy data, driving applied research and innovation among policymakers, researchers, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), utilities, and businesses toward a sustainable, reliable, affordable, and inclusive all-energy future.
